Pluggledninger
Skulle skifte plugger, og surfet litt på miataforum.com. Fant fort ut at pluggledningene er et svakt punkt på Miata/Mx-5. Påstander som "Stock wires usually last 20,000-30,000 miles and are possibly the only weak link in the Miata drivetrain" går igjen. Pluggledninger fra NGK og Magnecor anbefales. Noen som har skiftet til disse? Noen som kan anbefale forhandlere/nettsteder?
Jeg kjøpte orginale plugg ledninger hos mazdaforhandleren: 560 kr. inkl. moms.

Magnecor
Har lest litt mer om emnet. Problemet er vel at de originale er for dårlig, selv om man kjøper nye, så jeg har bestemt meg for å satse på Magnecor. De fleste på miataforum.com foretrekker disse eller blå kabler fra NGK. Magnecor går for å være noen hakk bedre (og dyrere) enn NGK. Og prisen er akseptabel, ca. 700 kr inkl frakt og mva.
"The Miata ignition wires are, arguably, the weakest point in the car. As early as 20,000 miles, (but generally closer to 40,000 miles) the insulation begins to break down and develop small pinholes which result in the spark going through the pinhole to the block instead of across the electrodes of the spark plug. This problem surfaces as hesitation at low RPM.
The ignition wires in the Miata should be replaced every 50,000 miles or sooner if you begin to develop a low RPM hesitation or misfiring.
Factory wires vs. NGK
The blue NGK wires are clearly superior in longevity to the original black wires on the early Miata models. Newer models may come with the blue NGK wires. Even with the higher quality wires, eventually they will break down. There are several aftermarket companies which also make high performance wires, and others that make "dubious" performance claims. Har nå skiftet plugger (fra originale Denso) til NGK og fra originale kabler til Magnecor Electrosports.
Før jeg skiftet leste jeg meldinger som dette på miate.net:
"I recommend the magnacor 8.5mm. I installed the Magnacors & NGK ZFR5F-11 plugs today. I found Champion RC10YC4 plugs & the wires I can't identify. All they say on them is "R-16-AIRP-B". They are black wires & pretty thin compared to the Magnacor 8.5s. Plugs went in hand tight plus 1/2 to 2/3 turn but, 1st smeared with a little anti-seeze compound.
After the plugs & wires were installed I checked the timing...set dead on 10 degrees. Adjusted the throttle cable to remove "ALL" slack. Now when you just touch your foot to the pedal you have "Instant On" response. Readjusted the idle to about 875 rpm & then took for a test ride.
"WOW!!!" I can most definately seat-of-the-pants-feel an increase in POWER. This car never felt this powerful before. Sorta reminds me of when I 1st set the timing in my old '92 Mariner Blue to 18 degrees BTDC.
On the way back I turned on to a road not used. Stopped the car, brought revs up to 5K & dropped the clutch. Smoked the tires & revs never dropped an Iota...when the tires grabbed solid pavement 1st gear shot to 7K, snatched 2nd & did a little fishtail. At 7K I grabbed 3rd & let it drop down (ran outa room).
Needless to say, I'm impressed with these plugs & wires. Shoulda bought these 20,000 miles ago when the car was brandnew."
Jeg hadde ikke så store forventninger, men det er utrolig stor forskjell! Bilen er MYE kjappere, ikke til å kjenne igjen. Denne oppgraderingen anbefales! Er forøvrig meget godt fornøyd med mx5parts.co.uk. Fikk delene etter fem virkedager.

Magnecor 8mm er blå, mens 8,5mm er røde. Søkte litt kjapt i "mx-5-sjappe"-folderen min, og fant de bare her (med røde "hetter", wtf?):caLitri wrote:Noen som vet hvor jeg får kjøpt blå magnecor til min 1.8 NB?
